A crypto-asset service provider (CASP) is:
A CASP may provide one or more of the crypto-asset services hereafter and are organised into 3 different classes/categories (Annex IV MiCA, incoherent with Recital (21) MiCA):

CASP Class 1 (Annex IV) - CASP authorised for the following crypto-asset services:
- providing transfer services for crypto-assets on behalf of clients;
- execution of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients;
- placing of crypto-assets;
- reception and transmission of orders for crypto-assets on behalf of clients;
- providing advice on crypto-assets;
- providing portfolio management on crypto-assets;

CASP Class 2 (Annex IV) - CASP authorised for any crypto-asset services under Class 1 and :
- exchange of crypto-assets for funds;
- exchange of crypto-assets for other crypto-assets;
- providing custody and administration of crypto-assets on behalf of clients;

CASP Class 3 (Annex IV) - CASP authorised for any crypto-asset services under Class 2 and:
- operation of a trading platform for crypto-assets.
