What is a Crypto-asset?

MiCA defines “crypto-asset” as a digital representation of a value or of a right that is able to be transferred and stored electronically using distributed ledger technology or similar technology.

A crypto-asset is:

a digital representation of a value or of a right; that is able to be transferred electronically; that is able to be stored electronically; and which electronic transferred and storage is made using distributed ledger technology or similar technology.
